We are proud to be Virginia Grown and Animal Welfare Approved for our breeding goats and laying hens. See our News and Blog.
At Waverly Farms, we celebrate natural and sustainable farming practices on 238 acres of rolling land near Richmond, Virginia. We offer fresh weekly produce and free-ranging, pastured eggs for our CSA (community supported agriculture) members. Our produce, pastures and animals are grown naturally and without pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, growth hormones, preventive antibiotics, or preservatives. You can find more information about our weekly vegetables at CSA Shares.
Two horses, 2 llamas, 2 bunnies, 150 laying hens, varying numbers of Black Angus cattle, and 3 heritage breed Guinea hogs provide balance to our farm and fertilizer for pastures and gardens. We nurture our soil and all of the beneficial insects and birds that help us to grow great tasting, healthy food. We care about our environment, our land, our food and your health.
Our pastured Black Angus Beef is very popular and receives great reviews! Like our vegetables, we take care to grow our beef slowly on natural grasses with a smidge of livestock feed and minerals to keep them happy and healthy. Our beef is sold "on hoof" by the 1/4, 1/2, or whole steer. They are harvested in our pastures and humanely processed by our local butcher or a USDA processing facility. Because you buy the live calf, you receive the freshest beef possible. You may also determine the cuts, thickness, package sizes, porportion of hamburger, and other details about your beef. All beef is cut into portions similar to those at the grocer store, vaccum sealed, dated and labeled. We deliver to you home "freezer ready". For more information, see Our Beef.
We also raise pure bred Spanish and Savannah goats. These are premium goats that are bred for heartiness, confirmation, mothering abilities and parasite resistance. Most are sold for breeding into important Boer, Kikko and other meat herds. We milk a few, now just for kicks, and may be adding realy milking goats this year. See Our Does and Our Bucks.

Lucie gathers wild raspberries and blackberries for jams, pies and just because they are free of preservatives and pesticides. A healthy choice, indeed!
