Beef for Sale
Waverly Farms calves are harvested as they are sold for the freshest possible beef. Comments from customers include: "Better than Kobe", "Freshest beef we've ever tasted", "Tender, flavorful meat", "Can't imagine going back to grocery store beef". Most of our customers are repeat customers.
Beef is sold by the quarter, half or whole in late Summer and Fall
- Quarter calf yields 80-100 lbs of packaged beef and is sold at $8.50/lb
- Half claf yields about 160-200 lbs of packaged beef and is sold at $8.00/lb.
- Whole calf yields about 320-400 lbs of packaged beef and is sold at $7.50/lb.
Customers may choose to have our local butcher harvest in our pasture and custom butcher locally. For an additional charge we will load and truck the calf to an Animal Welfare Approved VDACS-certified or USDA-certified butcher.
Beef is dry aged for 21 days, butchered and trimmed to your specifications, then placed in vacuum-sealed packages with the date, weight and type of cut. Customers may choose the thickness of steaks, types of steaks, size of packages, proportion of hamburger to other cuts, and many other choices.
Delivery is included within 50 miles of our farm. Beyond 50 miles, we charge $1 per milie one way.
All of our animals are raised on chemical-free pasture without growth hormones, preventive antibiotics, or other potentially harmful chemicals. When supplementation is required, we use our own hay and soy-free, Certified Organic grass pellets and sea kelp.
